~ Studio Outtakes of songs that were eventually released in different form on The Album ~
In late 1998, John Hiatt was informed by his doctor that he had developed polyps on his vocal cords which would have to be removed. With the real possibility that he would permanently lose his singing voice as a result of the operation, John entered the studio in early 1999 to record what could have been his last performance ever. Thankfully, with the operation a success and John's complete recovery, we can happily say: "never mind the polyps, here's John Hiatt."
